Can you measure a slurry without the meter wearing out?

A Coriolis meter handles most slurries as long as the solids stay suspended and the velocity stays above about one metre per second. Below that the reading drifts as solids settle in the tubes. For abrasive slurries above 15% solids an electromagnetic meter with a polyurethane liner usually outlives the Coriolis by years.

What is the real lead time, not the catalogue one?

Two weeks for a differential-pressure cell, three for a temperature assembly or an electromagnetic meter to DN300, four for a standard Coriolis. Anything with alloy wetted parts is eight weeks because the material is ordered against the job. Nine common pressure configurations ship in five days from stock.

Do you recalibrate instruments you did not build?

On site, yes, as part of a Resident agreement, and the certificate says plainly which instruments were not ours. In the Rotterdam laboratory we recalibrate Orrery instruments only — the fixtures and the reference data are ours and we will not certify against someone else's assumptions.

How do you stop an instrument being specified wrongly?

An applications engineer asks for the medium, the concentration, the temperature, the line size, the expected flow range and the area classification before quoting anything. Most returns are not faults — they are instruments built correctly to the wrong specification, and half an hour at the start prevents it.
