## About Orrery Instruments

Orrery was founded in 1974 making differential-pressure cells for a single refinery in Rotterdam. It now supplies flow, pressure and temperature instrumentation to about four hundred plants across northern Europe, and it still specifies every order by hand rather than from a catalogue picker. The reason is that most returns are not faults: they are instruments correctly built to the wrong specification. An applications engineer costs less than a wrong meter.

### How the desk works

What the applications team is working through. Each enquiry carries a reference, an owner and the question still in the way.

A enquiry is looked up by its reference together with the email it belongs to — both,
always. A signed-in visitor skips that: the assistant reads their own enquiries from
their identity and never asks for an address it has already been given.

### This is a demonstration

The Salesforce connection is on the roadmap, not in production — this page shows the assistant side of it working against seeded records so the experience can be judged before the connector exists. Nothing written here reaches a real system.
